Ikea’s New Collection Makes Your Not-Home Office Feel Like Home

Dentsu helps ease the back-to-work transition

Be it ever so humble, there’s no place like a soulless work-cube enlivened by furnishings and accessories from Ikea Canada’s new “Office Home” collection.

Those items are designed to help folks maintain a homey, heartening vibe in the corporate workplace. Which is especially important these days, as pandemic WFH protocols—fading for many in recent months—”have been a great comfort, a solution to competing responsibilities that has enabled a balanced schedule and a more balanced life,” Ikea says.

So, why not don super-soft Skovelsjon slippers while brainstorming in the conference room? Or roll out a Plufsig gym mat for an energizing yoga session with the team? And with a Lurvig scratching mat nearby, you’re always prepared for bring-your-cat-to-work day. (Plus, employees can use it to ease their frustration over pulling another all-nighter to prep for that big presentation!)

Ikea developed the concept with Dentsu Creative. Here’s a peppy spot that underscores the collection’s ability to maybe, just maybe, ease the transition for folks who’ve grown accustomed to working in their own space:PlayMuteLoaded: 0%Progress: 0%Remaining Time-0:30FullscreenIKEA Canada | Office Home | Touch of Home

That desk aglow with Ledjus LED string-lights looks downright cheery. Whoever sits there must be management material! The campaign runs online through Sept. 10, with heavy emphasis on social media.

These days, Ikea Canada’s all about blurring the line between work and home. When we last checked in with the brand, it had transformed a bunch of Toronto dwellings into showroom displays—complete with homeowners kicking back while using products sold in the stores.
